Khmer Rouge Tribunal
The Khmer Rouge Tribunal, a joint effort by the Cambodian government and the United Nations, was created in 1997 to try leaders of the Khmer Rouge regime for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Both local and international judges will sit on the tribunal. The trials were been slow tobegin, and recently, the tribunal has been under criticism for improper hiring practices and financial problems.
